Also knows as Independence Square, this place can be considered the center of the city and starting point to discover the Historical Central of Quito. In the middle of this square you´ll find the Monument to the independence and in this surroundings the main power of the State – represented by the Presidential Palace, the City Hall, The Cathedral and the Bishop´s Palace- are found.
Small Church constructed in the 18th century and located next to the Cathedral of Quito. Special attention deserves its stone faced, the Baroque style interior door and the “Frescos” paintings of its cupola.
160 years lasted the construction of this church (01605-1765) considered the best example of the Baroque style in Quito. Its impressive façade carved in stone is the entrance to its extraordinary interior decorated with a great work at gold leaf.
